Student Summit - Flat Classroom

My topic was the World Wide Web, and then on the wiki it was government and first-person for the video. This topic was somewhat easy for me because I was really familiar with the web and the internet so I took that as an advantage in the project.  The most valuable lessons I’ve learned from this experience is that you can access everything online when it comes to anything, like when you’re in a tough situation. Edmodo and FlatClassroom.ning helped me in the long run because I was able to keep up on what my instructor asked by being on both Edmodo and ning. Getting feedback right away from your teacher or other teachers helps me because I get ideas I can form together into one and that gives me good content I have in my project. What I had enjoyed most from this project is that when there were contributors, you have immediate feedback. Biggest challenge would be that sometimes putting the whole video together was a hassle because there were deadlines and you didn’t have much help. The only change I would make would be to get more people to know about this program, because the more people who know about it, the more people you will get to use the program and contribute.

Project Keynote Speaker Response

Technology I like to use for fun that would help me cmmunicate and learn in school is my iPhone it has so many apps i can download to use while im in school or not. If i dont have my iphone the other resource i use is e-mail and it helps me send out messages to others about updates, what to do, or what needs to be done. The 21st Century skills that i posses today would be the fact that everything that i work on in class is where i am on my own and i would have to go out and search for answers. Communication and Collaboration is preparing me for the future is that all the work i get will be done on my own and i can get feedback from others in their point of veiw so then the topic is flexible. By using all this technology it helps me by getting ahead of the game by participatiing in flatclassroom project.

Digital Citizenship

Hey! Name is Aaron, I am a senior at Valley High School and I am just now starting a blog for my class Digital Tools class that goes for a semester long. Our first unit that we are studying is Digital Citizenship, and what digital citizenship means to me is that it is a safe and ethical approach to the digital media.

If I were to rate myself and how I behave online I would say I sit in the middle, I do post bad things yet it’s just as a joke and they know it, but normally I behave online. After going through this unit I have learned that whatever I post online stays online somewhere in the world, and that anything I say can be held against me in work or my daily life. So I have changed my posting status whenever I get online so then my manager and my teachers or whoever sees it does not think poorly of me.

In my Digital Class we were to make an inforgraphic of defining Digital Citizenship and I made one right from Inforgr.am.
